Mourinho to City? Probably not —-

All the talk around the EPL – when it comes to the “Special One” is that he’s going to return to the EPL and immediately walk into Manchester City’s locker room. As a City fan – I beg to differ and want to comment about the options that I actually see happening – -

1. Liverpool – Liverpool are cash strapped and Jose wants a blank check type deal. He excels at building All-Star teams to win – that have thugs, great keepers, and a great back line – Liverpool is most likely not an option – even with Rafa on the way out – my call is that O’Neil comes over to the scouse.  Odds – 20:1

2. Chelsea – Roman would have to admit he was wrong – and that ain’t gonna happen any time soon.  However, if he did – it would be a smart move. Mourinho would be welcomed back with open arms – and would excel I’m sure.  Odds 10:1

3. Man United – No one is seeing old Rudolph the Red Nose manager retire anytime soon. So – this is completely doubtful – but… I think long term – this is where he’ll want to be even if Man U will be in total arrears by then.  Odds 30:1

4. Man City – The odds on favorite I guess – but if they finish top 4 Mancini can’t be replaced. If they finish with 70 points it’s very unlikely they’ll replace him. However, nobody knows what the Saudi’s will do with the management approach – I’m sure they are just as odd in the football dealings as they are in their Dubai dealings.  Odds 4:1

and…..

5. West Ham – This is my dark horse. If they can get 50% ownership from another rich Oil baron, anything is possible. Right now West Ham are looking to shrug off their majority share to anyone willing to pony up the cash. Give Mourinho West Ham, he’ll buy some old knock about team that will bruise it’s way into Europe and I’m sure in contention for top 4 within 3 years (given that he is allowed to buy who he wants) – and then by the time his tenure there is up and he’s made his mark – United will be open – don’t think for a second that he hasn’t thought about this as a plan… Odds 15:1

6. Stays put / Spain -  – Real, or even replacing Pep are always possible for the Special One – he may want to be the only manager ever to win in all 3 leagues – and then retire to the dusk of the Portugal National team. Odds 2:1

That’s all for now -
