… may deserve a break from our usual “Ughhhh I hate ESPN” selves.

This is a pretty decent article – some of the odds and extra ordinaries from previous WC’s. However these ARE the things I detest about ESPN’s coverage -
1. Ronald McDonald (i.e. Lalas)
2. Tommy Smyth
3. John Harkes
*These 3 headed monsters are just a complete apathetic view on Soccer commentary by the producers in Connecticut – this is almost as bad as Keyshawn on NFL countdown -
4. On the field reporters – get over yourself.
5. Simulcast game calling – they watch the game as we watch it and call it from a studio somewhere
6. Their love of Pop teams (Big 4) just like their love of Pop teams in America (see Yankees, Red Sox, Lakers, Celtics, and Cowboys)
7. Tommy Smyth – needed a two spot mention
But it looks like their online writers are pretty fair and decent – but if I see Kornheiser and Wilbon talking about the EPL or World Cup one more time – I may be light a television from the projectile that will fly through it -
